Let's Make Seitan Cutlets!

The Classic Cutlet Cooking Options

  • Simply add one cup of water to one bag of Street City Vegan Seitan Mix. 

  • In a large bowl, knead the mixture for a few minutes, until it takes shape (about 3 mins)

  • (It will form into a stretchy dough)

  • Separate into 4 pieces, creating cutlet shapes.

  • Add to a steamer for 60 minutes laying each piece out flat. Try to avoid overlapping as much as you can. 

  • OR you can add to a boiling pot of broth and simmer with the lid on for 45 minutes. 

  • Once your cutlets are steamed or boiled, you will have seitan patties, which you can pan fry, grill, slice, dice, bread, bake, etc. We recommend preparing them in some way after making the cutlets for best results. 

  • Pan Fry: Allow patties to cool. Season, or marinade as you would like.  Pan fry each side on a non-stick pan oil on medium heat for 5-8 minutes.
